About College

Baba Namdev University College, Kishankot was established as a constituent college of GNDU in 2016. It is a post-graduate, multi-faculty, co-educational college and recognized under 2F & 12B Act of UGC (MHRD). This establishment is a result of united efforts of MHRD, Govt. of Punjab and GNDU, Amritsar. This college is under the new scheme with special purpose to raise the standard of higher education especially for the population of remote, rural and backward area. It is historic step taken by Punjab Government which will always be remembered by people of village of this area.

In this college all those courses which have some special relevance in present time and are in demand are being offered. The university has made arrangements for teaching different courses. At present, various courses being run in the college are:- B.A., B.Sc.(Medical, Non-Medical, Computer Science, Fashion Designing), BCA, B.Com, MA (Punjabi), DCA, Diploma in Cosmetology. We have started new courses sanctioned by GNDU Amritsar from this session (MA in History, M.Sc. computer Science, PGDCA, Diploma in web Designing, Diploma in stitching & Tailoring, Diploma in Library Science).The aim of these courses is to prepare the students for the challenges in modern times. The fee structure has been less than other colleges since private colleges are out of the reach of the poor students. In session 2019-20 increase the strength of students more than 500. In the college well equipped labs of science, computer, fashion designing and cosmetology departments. Also, facility of Library and play ground for the students.

This constituent college is under GNDU management. It is the responsibility of the university to appoint or recruit the staff of the college. The competence and efficiency of teaching as well as non-teaching faculty of college has been well exhibited in the performance of students in all the spheres of students development. In, 2019 sports students won prizes under international, national and state level athletics. The students of BNDU College Kishankot have always excelled in extracurricular activities. Students participate in the zonal youth festival held in 2019, they have brought many positions. In the Nov./Dec. -2019 examination more than 30 students secured with 75% marks and above. It gives delight to share that ICSSR sponsored seminar on “Dynamics of Politics in North India” was to be held in the last week of March 2020 which had be postpone due to Lockdown. Punjab Government approved two NSS units to the BNDU College Kishankot in 2019.

Faculty is highly qualified and dedicated, backbone of this institution under dynamic leadership of its principal Mrs. Nirmal Pandhi with 48 years experience in higher education, awarded by Governor of Punjab, NAAC Assessors and member of National Lok Adalat, family welfare Committee as per Supreme Court notification. This college has been founded according to new blue print and it will certain play a significant role in the holistic development of the society in the times to come. It is being run with a missionary spirit.
